"NONE OF EUROPE'S CHILDREN SHOULD BE STATELESS"

ENS advocates as one of its central tenets that none of Europe’s children should be stateless. Childhood statelessness stands at odds with the right of every child to a nationality, as laid down in the Convention on the Rights of the Child. On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, 20 November 2014, ENS launched its new region-wide campaign which will raise awareness and promote measures to ensure that all children born in Europe or to European parents outside the region can in practice realise their right to a nationality. Read more here.

PREVIOUS CAMPAIGN: PROTECTING STATELESS PERSONS IN EUROPE

In October 2013 ENS launched a pan-European campaign to improve the protection of stateless persons in Europe. Timed to coincide with the 60th anniversary of the 1954 Statelessness Convention, this campaign brought together a broad spectrum of actors and aimed to put a human face on the statelessness issue. The campaign included an online petition which attracted over 7,000 signatures and culminated in a concerted day of action against statelessness across Europe on 14 October 2014 when the petition will be handed to European leaders.
