We are pleased to announce an opportunity to join the Community Advisory Board (CAB) for our project, Strengthening the Capacity of NGOs and Local Governments to Identify and Address Statelessness in Refugee and Migration Contexts in Europe and Central Asia.

This two-year project will develop country specific toolkits and facilitate global knowledge exchange to improve protection pathways for stateless people.

We are looking for individuals who have lived experience of statelessness and/or are embedded in and representing communities affected by statelessness.

About the role: 

The CAB will be made up of up to six members who will work in partnership with ENS to shape and deliver this project by providing guidance on project activities, contributing to monitoring and evaluation, and supporting the planning and delivery of our international conference in Istanbul (September 2025). Your insights, experience, and expertise will be invaluable in enhancing the project’s impact and ensuring that its outputs meet the needs of stateless people and their communities. 

 We are looking for individuals who: 

  • Have lived experience of statelessness and/or are embedded in and representing communities affected by statelessness (in any region of the world but the focus of the project will be Europe and Central Asia) 

  • Have demonstrable expertise or experience working on statelessness within refugee and migration contexts 

  • Have a demonstrable interest in and commitment to improving identification of statelessness and routes to protection for stateless migrants and refugees 

  • Can participate in four online board meetings over two years, and commit additional time to review project materials  

  • Can communicate in English (speaking, reading, writing, understanding) 

Remuneration:  

CAB members will receive a stipend of $1,500 USD (or GBP equivalent) in recognition of their contributions, and additional costs to facilitate participation in project-related activities will be covered where possible.

Selection process: 

Applications received will be assessed against the criteria in the Terms of Reference. Shortlisted candidates may be contacted for additional information and/or an online interview. We will seek to appoint up to six members reflecting a range of backgrounds and relevant expertise.
