Since 2016, the European Network on Statelessness has been working in partnership with the European Roma Rights Centre and the Institute on Statelessness and Inclusion on the issue of Roma statelessness and access to citizenship rights.

Together with project partners, we are organising an advocacy workshop at the European Youth Centre in Strasbourg (10 – 11 Oct) to bring Roma civil society, NGOs and key regional institutions together to take stock of what the project has achieved so far, share learning and expertise, develop relationships and shared goals among statelessness and Roma rights actors in Europe, and strategize and prioritise action for the next phase of the project. You can download the agenda here (pdf).

The workshop will follow a lunchtime reception at the Council of Europe (10 Oct, 1-2pm), organised by ENS to discuss recent and planned activity by the Council of Europe on statelessness, and will include presentations by Doris Fiala (Chairperson of the Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons), Carol Batchelor (UNHCR Special Adviser on Statelessness), Christos Giakoumopoulos (Director General, Directorate General Human Rights and Rule of Law), Chris Nash (ENS Director) and Ksenija Turković (Judge of the European Court of Human Rights).

If you have any questions regarding the registration or the event, please email Jan Brulc (jan.brulc@statelessness.eu).
