We are publishing a new briefing ahead of the upcoming trilogue negotiations on the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. These provide an opportunity to better mainstream the protection of stateless people’s rights in EU asylum systems.
Â
ENS previously published a detailed analysis with recommendations on the rights of stateless people in response to the original proposals in January 2021. This new paper provides an updated analysis of protections for stateless people in the Pact Regulations, including amendments adopted by the European Parliament in April 2023.
The recommendations in this briefing aim to mainstream a harmonised approach to ensuring full respect for the rights of stateless people across EU asylum and migration law and policy.
